Best Dog Toy Ever

Ok, I know this is just a matter of opinion… BUT, seriously. If anyone is looking for a toy for your puppy that could possibly be their most favorite toy of all time - and all their life… THIS could be it for you (too)!

When we brought Rylee home we had no idea what he was going to like, hate, love or ignore. Food was always the biggest issue. But toys… he really likes squeaky toys - but he rips out the squeakers. We quit buying those. Then there are the “durable” toys that dogs can’t chew thru so easily. True. They do take longer to get thru, but if you have a dog like Rylee who is determined, those don’t work so well either.

But we have one toy that we had no idea how much it would become part of our lives. Literally. We call it: “cookie ball”. It’s a rubbery-chew ball with holes all the way around. It’s designed to put treats in and then your dog enjoys figuring out how to get the treats out. We buy the large size dog biscuits and break them in half and put half at a time in the “cookie ball”. Then, Rylee chases it like a crazy Kujo dog. haha

Now, I tell you this because, if you are a corgi owner, you KNOW that your corgi runs your life! So let me share part of OUR corgi life - that starts with the “cookie ball:

  • Wake up; get morning loves and rubs from mama as she gets out of bed

  • Run to the living room where dad is and “boof” once - to announce that they Queen’s corgi has arrived

  • Dad says “where’s your cookie ball"?” and Rylee goes where ever he’s told to go look. We say things like: Go to work; in the gym; outside; in the bedroom; in the closet - and he knows where these places are and its funny to watch him frantically run to each location

  • Once Rylee finds his “cookie ball”, its delivered to dad by throwing in on the floor so it bounces and dad grabs it to put half a cookie inside

  • Now, its game time! Dad MUST throw the ball down the long entryway so Rylee can run after it - and he wants to race it. He doesn’t usually win, but I think he likes it that way

  • Once he has his “cookie ball” he returns to the living room to work at getting the cookie out, makes slurping sounds licking his face that make us laugh, then either a) go into our bedroom to wash his face by rubbing all over the carpet in our hallway, or b) he’s ready to go outside and chill on the patio - until he’s ready to come in - or we tell him “time for work”

Keep in mind, this is only the first 5 minutes of Rylee’s (our) day. We’re whipped. hahaha

Stay tuned for future stories of inspiration, goofiness, and fur baby antics! Appreciate you being here! =)
